Microsoft Designer is a new AI-powered graphic design app that is being added to the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. It builds on the existing Designer feature in PowerPoint, and utilizes DALL∙E 2 technology by OpenAI to generate digital images from natural language descriptions. The app allows users to start with an idea and let the AI do the heavy lifting, creating unique images based on their descriptions. Microsoft Designer is currently in private preview, and will be free to use when it goes out of preview, but will have exclusive features for Microsoft 365 subscribers. Microsoft also plans to integrate Designer with Microsoft Edge, allowing users to create visual content without leaving their browser window.
